The Artist may just be unbeatable at the Oscars in a little over a month. The film won the Golden Globe, the Critics Choice Award and has topped numerous critic’s best of lists, and tonight Michael Hazanvicius won Best Director at the Directors Guild of America Awards. This one is a great barometer of the Oscars as the winner usually repeats there, along with the film he or she represents. So, can Hazanavicius take the Golden Boy? He’ll still have to fend off Martin Scorsese, but I’d say it’s his to lose for the time being. Other awards went to Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Killing and The Kennedys.
