Smash is on the upswing. The incredibly engrossing and juicy (albeit a little inconsistent) musical dramedy just grabbed an order for a second season following a great “Workshop” episode last week and climbing ratings…. This week, they’re keeping the heat up with Director Derek (Jack Davenport) doing some sneaky machinations involving Katharine McPhee‘s Karen.
