“Think Like A Man” opens Big at the Box Office

Looks like moviegoers were finally hungry for something besides The Hunger Games, as the new ensemble comedy Think Like A Man opened way above expectations to hit the top of the box office. Man took in $33 million almost tripling its production budget. The film starring Kevin Hart, Taraji P. Henson, Megan Good, Regina Hall, Michael Ealy, Romany Malco, Gabrielle Union and Steve Harvey based on his book of the same name hit its target of African-American audiences but looks like it may be able to crossover with numbers like that…. One other movie was lucky enough to beat out the Games at the turnstiles too as Zac Efron’s new romance The Lucky One opened well with $22.8 million on par with most of the film adaptations of Nicholas Sparks’ books…. The final new entry, Disney’s documentary Chimpanzee also fared well taking in over $10 million for fourth place. Those are all good signs for the business as it gets ready for the start of the summer season in two weeks.
