Glee Highlights from “Choke”

May 2, 2012

Last night Glee delivered another strong episode following its delightful Whitney Houston tribute from last week. However, the episode entitled “Choke” dealt with the serious issue of domestic abuse involving Coach Biest (Emmy nominee Dot Marie Jones) coinciding with the dramatic auditions for Kurt (Emmy nominee and Golden Globe winner Chris Colfer) and Rachel (Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Lea Michelle) trying to get into NYADA. Check out my three favorite numbers below and for more on Glee, head here.

Glee- “Shake It Out” by Naya Rivera, Jenna Uskowitz and Amber Riley singing to Coach Biest (originally done by Florence + the Machine)

Glee- “Not the Boy Next Door” by Chris Colfer (originally from The Boy from Oz)

Glee- “Cry” by Lea Michelle (originally done by Kelly Clarkson)

Forget Miss America, here comes Best in Drag!

October 7, 2011

If you thought the Miss America, Miss USA or Miss Universe were the ultimate beauty pageant, you thought wrong. Or more likely, you’ve never experienced the audacious awesomeness of the annual Best in Drag show every October to benefit Aid for AIDS. The beauty and talent competition not only raises funds for a good cause, but is a ridiculously fun and outrageous eventing pitting drag queens against each other in a classic pageant battle. Plus, Emmy winner Kathy Griffin opens the show and is one of the celebrity judges. Also participating on the judging panel this year are Emmy nominee Harry Hamlin (L.A. Law), Lisa Rinna (Melrose Place), Emmy nominee Dot Marie Jones (Glee), Rita Wilson (Larry Crowne), Emmy winner Wayne Brady (The Wayne Brady Show), Tony Award winner for Spamalot and Grey’s Anatomy star Sara Ramirez, Emmy nominee Vanessa Williams (Ugly Betty, Desperate Housewives) and my costar from our guest appearance on Hot in Cleveland, Oscar nominee Melanie Griffith (Working Girl). That’s quite a lineup and I guarantee you will have an amazing time helping out this worthy cause.

Glee 3D is coming to your town!

July 15, 2011

This morning Glee picked up 12 big Emmy nominations including Comedy Series, Supporting Actress (last year’s winner Jane Lynch), Supporting Actor (Golden Globe winner Chris Colfer) and Guest Actress contenders Gwyneth Paltrow (Holly), Kristen Chenowith (April) and perhaps the nicest person in show business Dot Marie Jones who plays Coach Biest…. But award nominations are old hat for this phenom. These days the show is massive worldwide music money-making machine, and now that train is headed to your hometown… in 3D. You see, the Glee Live! concert tour that hit cities across the nation earlier this summer was filmed and is now a concert movie set to hit theatres on August 12th. Having gone to the concert in May, I can tell you it was an amazing show and featured all the student actors on the show including Darren Criss (Blaine) and the Warblers. Every number was wonderful and I’m sure it will be even more spectacular on the big screen. So, get ready to hit theatres next month with Glee and check out the first trailer for Glee 3D below.

I’ve been on Vacay…

June 4, 2011

Hey readers,
I just wanted to give ya a heads up as to why there have been so few posts this week…. You see, I have been on a little vacation. Just had to take a couple of days of R & R, but I was actually quite busy… I hit the beach, the pool, had a movie audition, saw a bunch of celebrities while hiking at Runyon Canyon (Zac Efron, Dane Cook, Angelina Jolie), went to the amazing Glee Live concert (and chatted with Glee stars Dot Marie Jones and Jenna Uskowitz), saw Beginners (really good beautiful movie featuring a wonderful performance from Ewan MacGregor and an Oscar worthy one from Christopher Plummer, grade: A-) and Hangover 2 (rather funny, but not as good as the first, grade: B) and on and on. But fear not the posts will come fast and furious next week. Thanks for hangin’ tight… By the way, I also went to Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure which was way more fun than the former one. While there, my friend Giana and I saw my friend Jeff Sumner perform brilliantly as the Genie in their fantastic live musical Aladdin spectacular. I highly recommend it. Take a look at our fun pics below.

Take care everybody!

Last Night’s Glee~ Never Been Kissed

November 10, 2010

SPOILER ALERT!!!!! Dont watch the first clip if you haven’t seen last night’s episode…

Now, for those of you who did watch and want to relive Kurt’s (Emmy nominee Chris Colfer) first kiss, take a look at the clip below. And watch the whole episode below as well which was incredibly moving and important as it took on the bullying epidemic and homophobia in our schools. The show also introduced the supremely charming Darren Criss as a new student and his group’s fantastic take on Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” which I posted last week. And kudos to Dot Marie Jones (Coach Beast) for some lovely understated work in the episode too.
