Last Thursday’s season finale of Glee was a busy one. We saw the Glee Club win Sectionals, Brittany (Heather Morris), leave town for M.I.T., Will (Emmy nominee Matthew Morrison) and Emma (Jayma Mays) finally tie the not, and the identity of “Catfish” was revealed. (Hello I soooo knew it was Unique played by fantastic Glee Project finalist Alex Newell). What we didn’t see was whether or not Rachel (Emmy nominee Lea Michelle) got her part on Broadway in Funny Girl. We did at least get to witness her amazing performance of the Celine Dion hit “To Love You More” at her callback, and that performance is precisely why people should still be watching Glee. Michelle was amazing and the number was just stunning. I have it for you below… But you will have to wait til September for season 5 of Glee and the reveal of Rachel’s fate.
Tomorrow night on Glee, Mr. Shu (Emmy nominee Matthew Morrison) and Miss Pillsbury (Jayma Mays) finally take the plunge in a big wedding episode. However, will they really make it to the altar? With Glee and a Ryan Murphy show, you never know…. I do know there will be some great musical numbers like the cast’s take on Ellie Goulding‘s current single “Anything Can Happen”. And today we get a taste of one full number on this Valentine’s Day themed episode. Check out Jake (Jacob Artist) and Marley (Melissa Benoist) dueling on the Motown classic “You’re All I Need to Get By” below. Then watch Glee tomorrow night on Fox.
This week Gleereturned from the holiday hiatus with one of the best episodes of the season as several couples ruminated about the status of their relationships, and Mr. Shu (Emmy nominee Matthew Morrison) debated asking Miss Pillsbury (Jayma Mays) to marry him. It featured some fantastic covers including the current # 1 smash “We Found Love” by Rihanna. But my two favorites were the girls take on Roberta Flack’s iconic 70′s ballad “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” that will bring you to tears and an anthemic and brilliant version of “Without You” the recent top 5 hit by David Guetta and Usher. As sung by Emmy nominee Lea Michelle, the euphoric dance track became a gorgeous lament for everlasting love and it’s currently sitting at # 1 on the iTunes sales chart. Check out both wonderful songs below, and for more on Glee, head here.
Glee: “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” by Naya Rivera, Amber Riley, Jenna Ushkowitz and Lea Michelle
It’s almost time for the return of Glee. Following what seems like an eternity, but has actually only been about 2 months, the Golden Globe winning pop phenom Glee will be back with two new episodes next week. Things start off with the supersized Super Bowl episode on Sunday 2/6 following that big game, and then we’ll get another all new Valentine’s Day episode on the 8th. I, naturally, can’t wait. We’ve already heard there will be songs by Michael Jackson and Lady Antebellum in Sunday’s episode and there will be a lot of love songs for the 8th. So, that got me thinking… Just what have been the best songs the show has delivered so far this season? Well, I have gone over the tracks again and I’ve ranked the top 15 for you. Interestingly, newcomers Charice and Darren Criss and guest Gwyneth Paltrow all made appearances on my list outshining some of the shows stars like Cory Monteith, Matthew Morrison and Amber Riley. It’s also interesting to note that Golden Globe winner Chris Colfer is all over the list. It’s no doubt due to his great material with the bullying storyline and his father’s heart attack story arc….
