American Idol becomes Cougar Town…

Behold the power of the cougar! Clearly the cougars were in control of American Idol this week as the lad with the luscious locks but limited ability Casey lives to sing another day and Big Mike got the boot. I mean how else do you explain it? I think Kara Dioguardi and her minions pooled their voting power to save Casey and poor entitled Mike suffered because of it. They also got to see some cougar faves perform live including Bon Jovi and Daughtry. Thank goodness the rest of us got a lil Fantasia spice thrown in for good measure. American Idol Recap~ Maybe Two is Better than One!

Last night, American Idol may have discovered the cure for this season’s ills. With the addition of duets between the final four performers, the finalists finally woke up and gave us something good to watch as Idol took on the songs of the cinema with mentor Jamie Foxx. As for their solos, only Crystal, showed promise further cementing her status as the only viable person to win the crown. We’ve got a new “Worst” and his name is Big Mike…

With Siobhan Magnus’s departure on American Idol last night, it meant the folks at “Vote for the Worst” had to quickly brainstorm for a new contender to champion as their choice for the worst of the still remaining Idol contestants. Apparently Big Mike’s faux bravado, chest pumping antics, irritable arrogance and supersized Velveeta cheesiness was just the recipe they were looking for. While I would’ve suggested teen elf Aaron or boring hair model Casey, VFTW took their own path ignoring the fact that Mike, while obnoxious, can sang! Oh well. We’ll see if it has an impact because after choosing to promote Siobhan just last week, she’s already going home. I bet the folks at VFTW are wondering where a Taylor Hicks is when you need one. In a shockingly good performance show, American Idol took on the music of country pop queen Shania Twain, and turned in the best competition night yet. Big Mike, Conspiracy Theories, IBS and more~ My American Idol results Recap

Holy Crap! Seriously, what a load of crap! That pretty much sums up last night’s American Idol Results show. Am I truly to believe that Big Mike was the lowest vote getter? Oh come on! This all reeks of producer manipulation in an effort for some serious drama and to get the judges to use their heralded “Judges Save” rule.
