Lee Dewyze wants you to Live it Up

October 7, 2010

He won the worst season to date of American Idol over the supremely more talented-but less commercial (and arguably less likable) Crystal Bowersox. However, Lee Dewyze is determined to make good on his debut album Live It Up. The usually nervous and dour singer is even smiling on the new album cover which will drop Nov. 16 and feature the leadoff single “Live It Up” which debuts on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show Oct. 13. Hopefully Lee’s soulful pop rock album will fare better than last year’s winner Kris Allen whose debut barely cracked the 300,000 mark that’s even less than that hack Taylor Hicks! (At least Kris had a hit song with “Live Like You’re Dying”.) The question is whether runner-up Crystal can pull an Adam Lambert and outshine her competitor in sales, airplay and on the charts. (His debut has sold almost 800,000 copies and yielded two big hit songs the platinum seller “Whataya Want From Me” and the gold certified current single “IF I Had You”). I have a feeling both Crystal and Lee may struggle in the current marketplace though. We’ll see when Lee’s album hits stores and Crystal’s arrives in late ’10/early ’11. Here’s hoping Lee gives us something on the new album as rousing as his cover of “The Boxer” below to insure his success.

This is what Kathy Griffin looks like when she loses an Emmy…

August 23, 2010

Kathy Griffin took to her twitter on Saturday night to protest her shame, anger, and grief about losing Best Reality Program to Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution and her nemesis Ryan Seacrest (who produces the show). She also posted this picture which shows just how upset she was (along with her friend, Kristin Chenoweth who was also an Emmy loser on Saturday for her guest turn on Glee). Take a look at the funny ladies below. At least we know they were joking and they can take comfort in the fact that they are previous Emmy winners. Kathy has two for her Kathy Griffin: Life on the D List while Chenoweth won last year for Pushing Daisies.

Buh Bye Didi and Damn Ryan, Shut it!

April 1, 2010

In a rather irritating and uncomfortable results show, Didi gets the boot and Ryan seems like he has apparently gone off the deep end. Plus Usher gets the auto-tune treatment, Ruben Studdard goes vegan, Diddy Dirty Money lip raps and my new Idol Buzz Rankings…
