This weekend, Hollywood dropped not one, but four new bombs on the box office as all the new releases tanked in their opening weekends. Faring the best with a blah $11.4 million was the animated flick The Pirates! Band of Misfits just ahead of the disappointing Judd Apatow comedy The Five Year Engagement (which I gave a “B-” grade to). In the $7 million range were the other two newbies, Safe and The Raven. With all those films imploding, Think Like a Man was able to hold on to the top spot with another $18 million for a $60 million total. That flick is proving to be a big money-maker considering its $12 million budget…. Things should turn around at the turnstiles next week with The Avengers opening and kicking off the summer movie season. For more on all the numbers, head to Box Office Mojo and check out the new top ten below.
