Carrie Underwood’s New Video will Blow You Away!

July 31, 2012

Five time Grammy Award winner Carrie Underwood is riding high on the success of her # 1 album Blown Away. It’s her fourth # 1 country album and third # 1 album on the Billboard 200. The first single off the album, “Good Girl” became her 11th # 1 on the country charts and her new one “Blown Away” looks destined for the same result. The rocking country ballad tells of a young girl from an abusive home and her dilemma when a twister comes to town. The video for the song just hit the web and it’s arguably Carrie’s best clip to date. Notice the gorgeous cinematography, the Wizard of Oz illusions, Carrie’s angst and more below. Then, head to Carrie’s website for more info on her music and her current hit tour. I’m seeing her in October in LA, yay!

Get Ready to Return to “Oz”

July 14, 2012

As you all know, The Wizard of Oz is an iconic and incredibly beloved film. It’s been a touchstone in filmmaking for the ages and has inspired tons of books, works of art and a Tony Award winning musical, Wicked…. Now, Hollywood is ready to take us back to Oz with a new spin on the classic tale. This one is called Oz: The Great and Powerful and stars Oscar nominee James Franco, Oscar winner Rachel Weisz, three time Oscar nominee Michelle Williams and Golden Globe nominee Mila Kunis. Spider-man director Sam Raimi directs this adventure which could be considered a prequel to the original film as it follows a magician (Franco) who is flown away to the fantastical world of Oz during a tornado, and there he meets the three witches played by Weisz, Williams and Kunis. The first trailer for Oz just hit the web and it looks pretty fantastic. Check it out below and watch for the film to hit theaters next March.

Glee Preview~ “Somewhere” from West Side Story

September 27, 2011

Glee has gone all musical theatre in season 3 and I’m loving it. Last week it was Anything Goes, Hairspray and The Wizard of Oz. This week, they take on one of the biggies, West Side Story, and I have your first peak at Emmy nominee Lea Michelle (Rachel) dueting with on-screen mom Shelby (played by Tony winner Idina Menzel) on the iconic song “Somewhere”. Check out the brilliance below and watch Glee Tuesday night at 8pm on Fox.
