Check out the “Lost” scene from last night’s True Blood finale!

August 27, 2012

HBO’s vamptastic drama True Blood wrapped up its seriously insane and ridiculous yet totally entertaining fifth season last night with all out vamp on vamp warfare. It was a great finish to a rather cooky and often frustrating season. There was a high body count and some good resolution to the story lines of the season and that fairie birth scene was an absolute hysterical riot. Anywho, if you didn’t watch it, catch the finale re-airing all week on HBO and HBO Go. I don’t want to spoil anything either for ya, so I’ll leave it at that… However, there was a lost extra scene that only HBO Go users saw last night until it hit the web today… Check out the awesomeness which features vampires Tara (Rutina Wesley), Pam (this season’s MVP in my book Kristin Bauer van Straten), Nora (Lucy Griffiths), Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) and our beloved knucklehead human sexpot cop Jason (Ryan Kwanten) below and raise a cup of True Blood to another season next summer.

“Political Animals” could be the Best Show of the Summer

July 5, 2012

So far, the summer television season has been pretty lackluster. While we have some great staples like True Blood, Drop Dead Diva and So You Think You Can Dance, the rest of the new offerings (like the incredibly frustrating and self-aggrandizing The Newsroom) have been underwhelming or just plain terrible (The Choice and every dating show ever!). So, thank goodness we have some new great choices on the way. Along with the anticipated new seasons of Project Runway, Breaking Bad, The Closer and USA’s hot hits White Collar, Burn Notice and Covert Affairs comes what might just be the best show of the summer, Political Animals. In this limited drama series, Oscar nominee Sigourney Weaver as a former First Lady of the United States currently serving as Secretary of State with lots of political ambitions and a whole lot of family drama. The show will be looking at the dynamics of government and family and features an incredible cast including Cirian Hands, Josh Wolk, Sebastian Stan, Carla Gugino and Oscar winner Ellen Burstyn. It also hails from the brilliant mind of Greg Berlanti (Brothers & Sisters, Eli Stone, Everwood, Dirty Sexy Money), so you know it’s going to be great. I, for one, am incredibly excited and I think you will be too after you watch the trailer below. Check it out and then set your dvr for Political Animals debuting on USA on July 15th.

First Look~ True Blood season 5

April 2, 2012

HBO’s fantastic, sexy, scary and super entertaining series True Blood is back for its fifth season this June, and the first trailer for the show just hit the web. It doesn’t seem to answer any questions from last season, but it’s all kinds of good. Check it out and for more on the new season of True Blood, head here.

Breaking Bad is Back!

July 15, 2011

One of the best dramas on television is finally back this Sunday. Emmy nominated Breaking Bad returns for its fourth season with three-time Emmy winner Bryan Cranston as everyone’s favorite cancer ridden chemistry teacher turned crystal meth dealer and his ne’er-do-well partner played by Emmy winner Aaron Paul. The show is perhaps the most suspenseful and thrilling hour on television with a fantastic cast featuring Anna Gunn (can someone please give her an Emmy nom), Dean Norris and Giancarlo Esposito as one heck of a scary drug overlord/chicken restaurant owner. It’s simply too good to be missed. The new season begins Sunday night 7/19 on AMC. (By the way, when did summer Sunday become must see TV night? My dvr is overloaded with Bad, True Blood, The Glee Project, Drop Dead Diva and Falling Skies!) … So, check out Breaking Bad this weekend and here’s a little trailer to whet your appetite.

The True Blood In Memoriam Video

August 30, 2010

At last night’s Emmy Awards, Jewel sang a lovely song celebrating the wonderful artists and performers the television industry lost last year including Rue McLanahan, Gary Coleman, Dixie Carter and others. And of course, the ever irreverent people at True Blood and HBO decided to do their own spin on the annual “In Memoriam” montage. Take a gander at the True Blood Memorial below. Oh, and expect a few more characters to be added to the list after the season finale on Sunday 9/12. And one more thing, you’re warned~ it’s kinda gross!

10 Things I Guarantee will happen at the Emmys

August 29, 2010

The big night is almost here as the Television Academy of Arts and Sciences hands out its primetime Emmy Awads tomorrow night. I’ve already told you about the Creative Arts Emmy winners from last week and given you my predictions for the big winners. Now, I’m gonna give you one more little morsel to get ready for the show… With that said, here are 10 things I guarantee will happen on Emmy night…. Take a look and watch the show on NBC tomorrow night to see if I’m right.

Ten Things I guarantee will happen at the Emmys…

1. True Blood will lose Best Drama Series~ the academy showed they are hip by nominating the show but there’s not a fairies chance in werewolf/vampire/maenad hell that it can win.

2. Jane Lynch (Glee) will win Supporting Actress Comedy Series~ she’s the funniest actress in the funniest role on TV right now. She’s paid her dues and everyone loves her. An overnight success that’s two decades in the making. A slam dunk.

3. Jimmy Fallon will disappoint as a Host~ his fan base is young and hip and advertisers like that. However, it’s also small and his hit and miss on his own program. I like him but honesty is he gonna translate to a mass audience? No. Otherwise, his movie career would’ve taken off and he wouldn’t be in Jimmy Kimmel and Craig Ferguson’s shadows.

4. Tina Fey will be the funniest presenter~ whether she’s presenting or winning, she kills it. And she’ll do it again. I just hope she presents after she loses best actress in a Comedy cuz you know she’ll bring the angry funny.

5. Neil Patrick Harris & Betty White will steal the show~ they both just won Guest Actor in a Comedy Series and couldn’t be hotter in Hollywood. Put them together to present and you have a hilarious match made in gay heaven, oops, I mean entertainment heaven.

6. Christina Hendricks will end up on the Worst Dressed List~ the Mad Men has what some consider a “full” figure. Really she’s just gorgeous and actually might eat a chip every now and then. However, her curves always get her into fashion trouble with the fashionistas regardless of whether she looks great or not.

7. Anna Paquin & Stephen Moyer will be way too touchy feely~ the True Blood stars are newlyweds and can’t seem to keep their hands off each other on or off-screen.

8. If Chris Colfer wins, you will bawl~ the surprise Glee supporting actor nominee is so charming, intelligent and funny in person, he’s certain to give a great speech that will touch the outsider in everyone.

9. You will realize you didn’t see 95% of the TV Movie/Miniseries nominees~ I watch everything and I still haven’t seen Return to Cranford or Endgame…. Yes, those are real movies…

10. I throw someone out a window if Tony Shaloub wins~ the Monk star already has 3 wins and 7 nominations. Enough already! However, he had a great tape submission and he’s well liked in the community. It could happen unfortunately…

Just because it’s Hot…. “True Blood” on Rolling Stone!

August 17, 2010

This pic from the new Rolling Stone issue featuring the Emmy nominated True Blood stars Alexander Saarsgard (Eric), Anna Paquin (Sookie) and Stephen Moyer (Bill) is too hot to be ignored!
