The Grey’s Anatomy Musical is coming!

After 7 seasons, you might have thought Grey’s Anatomy was running out of ideas. However, the show has been truly resilient this year. Following last season’s crazed shooter episode that left the hospital in tatters, caused Meredith (the wonderful and Emmy worthy Ellen Pompeo) to miscarriage and saw the deaths of several characters, the residing drama has been palpable this year and all of the performers have been at the top of their game. Now, the show is trying something entirely new with a musical episode that centers on trouble s in Callie’s (Sara Ramirez) impending pregnancy. The show will feature the cast taking on songs that have been made famous over the years on Grey’s. Some of the noteworthy tunes the actors will sing include The Fray’s “How to Save a Life”, Anna Nalick’s “Breathe 2 A.M.” and Snow Patrol’s “Chasing Cars”. And looking at the preview below, I’m very hopeful about this episode. It will certainly help that shouldering the episode is Ramirez whose a Tony winner for the musical Spamalot. And Emmy nominee/SAG award winner Chandra Wilson also hails from a musical theatre background having performed in the Tony winning musical Caroline or Change on Broadway. Take a peek at the episode below and watch the full Grey’s musical episode on March 31st.
