Lady Gaga is “Born” to be # 1

Grammy winning pop music superstar Lady Gaga sure does like to make an entrance. Whether it’s in an egg at the Grammy Awards or by selling a massive 1.1million copies of her new album, Born This Way, she always leaves her mark. With her debut at # 1, she lands her first # 1 album and sells the most records in a week since 2005. Her previous albums peaked at # 2 (The Fame), # 5 (The Fame Monster) and # 6 (Remixes). She also has four songs on the Hot 100 including her current smash “The Edge of Glory” (# 8), her former chart topper “Born This Way” (# 42) and two debuts “You and I” (# 37) and “Marry the Night” (# 79). That’s quite a week for Gaga. And she should hold the top spot on the Billboard Top 200 Album charts for several weeks… She did have a little competition on the charts this week though. Other debuts in the top ten cam from Brad Paisley (netting his 7th top ten album and 8th # 1 country album), Foster the People, the Glee Cast and boy band super group NKOTBSB. With their dual album hitting # 7, New Kids on the Block nabbed their 5th top ten album while Backstreet Boys grabbed their 8th consecutive top ten album.
