Katy Perry sets the MTV Video Music Award Nominations on “Fire”

Katy Perry is exploding… with MTV Video Music Award nominations that is… This morning Katy grabbed a leading 9 awards for her videos “E.T.”, “Last Friday Night”, “Teenage Dream” and “Firework” which is up for Video of the Year. She holds off Adele and Kanye West who landed 7 nods apiece. Interestingly, two former VMA stalwarts, Beyonce and Lady Gaga only picked up three nods today. For more on all the nominations and the show which will air live on MTV, that place that used to play videos (um, youtube or Vevo should actually be having these awards…), on August 28th. Check out all the nominees below…. Oh and one big gripe~ how the hell did Pink’s amazing video for “Fucking Perfect” not get a single nod. That is a crime people!

Superb! I’m proud of Katy Perry! She already knew how to seed her songs in everybody’s ear drums. No wonder she’ll be the artist of the year. 🙂
