Adele has another Record Breaking Week on the Charts

Adele is a music selling monster. The recent six-time Grammy winner (now with a total of 8) followed up that awards show with a big sales boost for her massive album, 21, as it marked a record-breaking 21 weeks on top of the Billboard Albums Chart. Now, in its 52nd week in the top ten (never having left since its debut), 21 breaks the record for the longest run at # 1 by a female artist beating Whitney Houston’s The Bodyguard soundtrack. (She also holds Whitney’s Greatest Hits in the runner-up position this week). Moving another 730,000 copies, up 207%, Adele gets her biggest sales week ever and is closing in on 8 million units sold. She is likely to continue on top next week, and she also has a second album in the top five with her debut record, 19, at # 4 (grabbing a new peak for that one). For more on all of Adele’s record-breaking album sales, head to Billboard here.
