“Moonrise Kingdom” Grabs the First Prize of the Year at the Gotham Awards

Wes Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom just got some juice for this year’s Oscar race as it took home Best Picture at the Gotham Film Awards last night. The kudosfest honors independent films and is a challenger to the Independent Spirit Awards on the west coast. Moonrise seems a strong bet for a screenplay Oscar nom, but this recognition will certainly help it in keep its profile up for the other big races too….
