Bond is Back on Top as Butler Bombs at the Box Office

Skyfall_wallpaperWow, I really went for some alliteration in that title, didn’t I? But hey, when Bond is back on top after four weeks in release, it deserves a fun headline. The highest grossing Bond film in the franchise Skyfall returned to the summit pulling in another $11 million holding off the animated disappointment Rise of the Guardians which took in $10.5 million. The ultra expensive Guardians has a long road ahead to profitability as it has struggled thus far. However, it’s a holiday family title and that bodes well for its fortunes in the next few weeks… One film that has no good fortune is the latest Gerard Butler bomb Playing for Keeps which was barely playing the game taking in a paltry $6 million. Someone needs a new agent! … While Butler thinks about his movie future, why don’t you take a look at the new top ten below. And head to Box Office Mojo for more on all the numbers.
