Ben Affleck plays with the Big Kids at the DGA Noms

MC_BenAffleckArgo_prBen Affleck officially got an invitation to the big kids table as he grabbed his first DGA Nomination for his critical and commercial hit third film Argo. Affleck is the only first time nominee going against previous winners Tom Hooper (previous winner for The King’s Speech), Ang Lee (wins for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Brokeback Mountain), Kathryn Bigelow (won for The Hurt Locker) and Steven Spielberg who now has 11 nominations and 3 wins (The Color Purple, Schindler’s List and Saving Private Ryan)…. Left off the Director’s Guild list were David O’Russell (Silver Linings Playbook) and Quentin Tarantino (Django Unchained). Take a look at the list of nominees below which is usually quite an accurate Oscar predictor and watch for the winner announcement next month.

2012 Director’s Guild Award Nominees for Motion Picture:

Ben Affleck (Argo)
Kathryn Bigelow (Zero Dark Thirty)
Tom Hooper (Les Miserables)
Ang Lee (Life of Pi)
