Kelly Clarkson Inspires a Cancer Survivor

January 3, 2012

Over the holidays, Grammy winner Kelly Clarkson performed a special song for one of her fans. On a German Christmas special, Kelly sang a gorgeous acoustic version of her song “The Sun Will Rise” (originally a duet with former American Idol judge Kara Dioguardi on her hit Stronger album). It was all to honor and inspire a cancer survivor. Check out the great performance below.

First Listen~ Kelly Clarkson’s “Mr. Know It All” is Awesome

August 30, 2011

It’s finally here, the official first single off of Kelly Clarkson’s upcoming fifth album, Stronger. The awesome pop track is “Mr. Know It All” and it’s streaming live on her site at  right now. I’m already obsessed with it and I think you’re going to love it. It’s a nice departure from the rocking anthems she’s known for lately (ala “Since U Been Gone” and “My Life Would Suck Without You”) and features her trademark brilliant vocals. I say, instant smash. You can buy it on iTunes and other digital retailers this Monday 9/5/11…. The album drops on Oct. 25th and will indeed include one duet, which is rumored to be with former American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi. (The tracks she’s worked on with fellow former Idol Chris Daughtry didn’t make the album.) Watch for more info on the record in the weeks ahead. In the meantime, enjoy Grammy Award winning Clarkson’s fantastic new single at her website below.

Steven Tyler from Aerosmith is your new American Idol judge!

August 18, 2010

He screams and wails, wears spandex like nobody’s business, is a Grammy winning, Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame icon and now he’s coming into your living room every Tuesday and Wednesday night on Fox. Say hello to Steven Tyler from Aerosmith! After much media shenanigans and false reports, it is now confirmed that Tyler will be joining Randy Jackson on the American Idol judging panel replacing Simon Cowell. I think he will add some serious flair and drama to the show and I also bet he’ll be very honest and forthcoming. He knows the business and is an incredibly talented singer and songwriter, not to mention, he’s kind of a bucket full of crazy. I’m happy with this choice. Now the question is who will replace Ellen Degeneres who left earlier this summer and Kara DioGuardi who’s status is apparently up in the air. Will she return or will it be Shania Twain or Jennifer Lopez. Stay tuned…

And here’s a little taste of Aerosmith for you…

Zachary Levi from “Chuck” sings with Katharine McPhee!

May 7, 2010

If you’re a fan of NBC’s action comedy Chuck, you know that Zachary Levi is a man of many talents. He plays a techie geek who realizes he’s actually been trained as a spy which affords Levi a ton of material to play comedy, romance, drama and also kick some butt. But did you know he can also sang?! That’s right apparently Levi has a bit of musical theatre training from back in the day and now, you can hear just how talented he is. He joins American Idol alum Katharine McPhee on a newly recorded duet of her single “Terrified” from her second album. The beautiful track was written by Idol judge Kara Dioguardi and gained notoriety when top 10 finalist Didi Benami performed it on Idol earlier this season. I happen to prefer Katharine and Zachary’s version. Check it out below. Catch Levi Monday night’s on Chuck and watch for McPhee in the upcoming feature You May Not Kiss the Bride.

Judge the Judge

April 20, 2010

American Idol  judge Kara Dioguardi has written numerous hit songs for the likes of Kelly Clarkson (“Walk Away”) and Pink (“Sober”), but she also can sang. Check out Kara doing her song “Terrified” with Jason Reeves, originally recorded by former Idol Katharine McPhee (with Reeves). Here’s Kara doin’ the song on Lopez Tonight. It was also recently covered on the Idol stage by this season’s castoff Didi Benami. What do you think. How would you judge this judge?
