My Ridiculously Early October Oscar Predictions

My faithful readers know I am a little cuckoo when it comes to Awards season. I love me an awards show and I love to throw in my two cents on who should be nominated and win in each genre. Today, I’m taking on the biggest of them all, the Oscars. Now, I have seen a good portion of the contenders but I’m still going sight unseen for a lot of them, so I could be totally wrong, lol… Anywho , sit back and take a look at my ridiculously early October Oscar nomination Predictions. You’ll see some clear frontrunners like Les Miserables and The Silver Linings Playbook, but a few bigger gambles like the incredibly deserving (and my favorite film of 2012 so far) The Perks of Being a Wallflower… Take a look at it all below and watch back here in the months ahead for my updated predictions….

The Brand New Trailer for “The Hobbit”!

As most of you know, the movie I’m most looking forward to this winter is the big Oscar buzz musical Les Miserables. However, coming in a close second is the first installment in a new trilogy from Lord of the Rings Oscar-winning mastermind Peter Jackson, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. The film hits theaters December 14th and will no doubt be a blockbuster. The question is will it be awards bait like the Rings trilogy or just a crowd pleaser? Well, taking a look at the new trailer, it seems like it could fulfill both tasks. It also looks like it has a lot more humor than the Rings films. Check out the new film trailer below. This one stars Martin Freeman and Richard Armitrage alongside Rings players Elijah Wood, Orlando Bloom, Andy Serkis, Hugo Weaving, Oscar winner Cate Blanchett and Oscar nominee Sir Ian McKellan. First Look~ The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

No sooner did I get home from seeing one of the most anticipated films of this year (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo which was awesome and gets an “A” grade from me by the way), than the trailer for one of the most anticipated films of 2012 hit the web. Check out the wonderful new clip for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey below. The film, which comes from Oscar-winning Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson, brings back faves from that trilogy like Gandalf (Oscar nominee Sir Ian McKellan) , Frodo (Elijah Wood), Legolas (Orlando Bloom), Galadriel (Oscar winner Cate Blanchett) and of course Gollum (Andy Serkis) while it also introduces a host of new hobbits on a great adventure. I can’t wait… but I’ll have to… Because, Hobbit doesn’t hit theatres til Dec. 14th of next year…
